Insta-wire was created for several reasons. Many challenging problems come up when you’re faced with the 16 block distance limit of redstone. You can repeat the signal, but every time you do it introduces a delay. I’ve set out to change all of that in order to make timing easier and redstone ALUs and CPUs incredibly faster.

Insta-wire comes with six new blocks that interact with redstone. The repeater simply repeats the signal without adding any delay. The OR block accepts input from any of the four sides, and outputs to all four sides. The AND block needs both inputs to be lit up to transmit the signal. The inverter acts like a torch on a block, but it will invert the signal without any delay. The memory block accepts input from two sides, if you input a signal on the + side it will stay lit. If you input a signal to the ? side it will deactivate. The XOR block needs one positive and one negative input to trigger. You should show me the stuff you create with this, I’m really interested to see how it turns out. Also feel free to suggest any new useful instant redstone block types.

The recipe is shown in the video.

Installation:

Singleplayer Instructions

  • Locate the minecraft.jar
  • Open the minecraft.jar in a program like winrar and delete the META-INF folder.
  • Download & Install Risugami’s Modloader
  • Download & unzip InstaWire mod.
  • Copy all of the *.class files from the unzipped folder into your minecraft.jar.
  • If an /imgz/ folder is in the unzipped folder, copy it over to minecraft.jar.

Multiplayer Instructions

  • Locate the minecraft.jar
  • Open the minecraft.jar in a program like winrar and delete the META-INF folder.
  • Download & Install Risugami’s Modloader
  • Download & Install ModloaderMP in both the client and server (if you’re running one)
  • Download & unzip InstaWire mod.
  • Copy all of the *.class files from the unzipped “client” folder into your minecraft.jar.
  • If an /imgz/ folder is in the unzipped folder, copy it over to minecraft.jar.
  • If you’re running a server: Open the minecraft_server.jar in a program like winrar.
  • If you’re running a server: Copy all of the *.class files and /imgz/ folder from the unzipped “server” folder into your minecraft_server.jar.

If you’re having problems please reinstall ModLoader. Then make sure you deleted META-INF from minecraft.jar. If that doesn’t work, and you’re sure you reinstalled modloader just now, it could be a blockID or itemID conflict. These mods will automatically create a file in (minecraft folder)modsDJoslin, open that file and change the ID to an unused one.
